Community Service

Colon Cancer Awareness is the primary community service area chosen by Power To Become Ministries.  This annual event is done in memory of the Late Pastor Tommy G. Hamms of the New Zion Baptist Church in Winnfield, Louisiana.   He was a dear, dear friend and co-laborer in Gospel of Jesus Christ.  The lost of his life, in a very short period of time due to colon cancer, moved me as the founder to become proactive in bringing awareness to this treatable and curable cancer when caught in time.

Annually, March is declared as Colon Cancer Awareness month across the United States and local communities.  Regular colonoscopies are encouraged as a preventive measure as well as proper foods to consume to aid in good colon health.  If you are interested in becoming a partner in this great cause and campaign with us during the month of March, please contact the ministry via email to donate or volunteer.
